Gencor introduced HydroCurc™ at Engredea last month, and we've signed a licensing agreement with Pharmako to be one the first retail manufacturers to market with HydroCurc™.
As you may be aware, Curcumin is a fat soluble extract from turmeric. It is often combined with piperine to increase bioavailability, as it is quite poor on its own in the body.
There are a few patented forms of curcumin on the market with research supporting their benefits. These forms are phospholipid bound to curcumin, which means they are at least 80% phopholipids and 20% curcumin, as the phospholipids are what improve the bioavailability.
Hydrocurc™ is touted as the world's most absorbable curcumin with an extract ratio of 25:1.
HydroCurc™ utilizes a cold water dispersible technology known as LipiSperse, which is "a novel system tailored to increase the dispersion of crystalline lipophilic agents in aqueous environments".
In contrast, HydroCurc™ is 80% curcuminoids and initial studies have shown a significant increase in bioavailability of free curcuminoids over the standard curcumin, as seen in the graph below.
Gencor and Pharmako are running a long-term bioavailability study on HydroCurc™ and are expected to publish the results later this year.
We'll have our first batch in within the next few weeks, the labels are with our printers.
